Muraho, amakuru!

I first arrived in Rwanda in 2007. I was a Voluntary Services Overseas err... volunteer. Kind of the British version of Peace Corps. I spent two years working for the Rwandan National Union of the Deaf, helping to document regional sign language around the country and develop the first standardised national dictionary of Rwandan Sign Language. That accomplished, I left for a few years to work in international development and human rights, before returning in 2014 to start my own company. I also set up Kigali Keys, a piano tuning and repair business in Kigali. Following my passion for storytelling and vlogging, I started my YouTube channel, Writer in Rwanda, just after the pandemic. It's gradually taking over more of my life. I enjoy helping people to explore the country on holiday, and making the transition to living here a little bit easier.
